Wonderful Early Birthday Present – Robbie is back
I got a wonderful early birthday present – news that Robbie Fowler has re-signed for Liverpool. It is the best birthday present I could have hoped to have received. Judging from the reactions on the web, it is a transfer so many wanted but dared not hope for.
Sure it is a gamble, maybe more so for Robbie than for Rafa and Liverpool but the gamble isn’t a big one. Robbie’s signed on a free transfer, for 6 months and taken a pay cut to play for the team he loves so much. The reason us fans idolise him so much isn’t just because he is such a natural goalscorer with a brillant record at the club but because he is one of us, a fan to the core. If nothing else he and fans who support him will get closure. It’s no secret he was forced out and he never wanted to leave.
I can’t wait to see him in action, paired up with Crouch. I’ve been saying Crouch reminds me of Peter Beardsley, so fingers crossed it could be the new Beardsley/Rush pairing. The next game is against Birmingham on 1st Feb, kick-off at 20.00 GMT which means it will be on the 2nd Feb, which is my birthday. I haven’t been anticipating watching/listening to a game so much since the Champions League final last May. Welcome back Robbie!

Hey there,
Just bumped into your blog. My work involves IA as well so it’s been a pleasure reading your articles.
And I am a BIG fan of LFC!!! (this is a sad day of course, after such loss to benfica … but at least we still have the FA cup to chase for)
Anywayz, I am involved in building a site that lets ppl create booklists, very easily. We’d like to invite you to try it out. Can you send me an email (i assume you can see the one I left for this message) so I can send an invitation to your email address?
