Why I have so many entries still in draft form

An excellent piece written by Greg Knauss finally helped me realise why I am so bad at making regular posts on this blog. I am what he calls an experiential blogger, someone who writes posts from personal experience or knowledge. Speaking for myself, a lot of thought and reflection go into posts, sometimes too much, to the point that some entries remain permanently in limbo (also known as drafts). The other type of blogger is more suited to make quick fire posts using the power of the web for links and supporting commentary.

If you think this is an excuse just rummage through the archives to see what I mean. I agree with Greg in his belief that one type of blogger isn’t better than the other but I do hope to make a shift to acheive a happy balance.

Blogging is great in terms of practising organizing your thoughts and how you want to present your point of view. I remember all throughout English at high school we had to write millions of essays. What a waste of time I thought but now I think it is good practise. I sometimes find out how little I really know about something and am forced to do some research.

The only problem now is that I don’t have a teacher to proof read my work. Anyway, hopefully practise makes perfect!
