Video of Information Architecture Presentation
Here’s the video of the presentation I gave on Information Architecture at the Apple Store, Osaka. You’ll need QuickTime to view it but most people who have iTunes installed should have QuickTime. It is about an hour long and your comments are most welcome.

Hi, haven’t had time to update in a while? Same as me. It was great seeing you earlier this year. Hope 2008 goes well for you and your family and looking forward to seeing you in the future.
Hey Ian!
Liked the presentation, especially enjoyed the references to ancient (in web terms) history (zombo.com the awards). Shame you didn’t have a little more time on the examples at the end.
I would enjoy a discussion about the practical details of how you manage the process and jungle conflicting demands of budget and time when you are trying to do things the “right” way.

PS Your accent has changed! It was good to hear you speak proper when you said Northern Ireland
Hi Ian.
It is great to see your presentation on the web. I did not know that you have this big presentation in Osaka. I like the way you define your profession as “Information architecture”. It is quite unique. Currently I am a little bit interested in the work of system architect, which might be the similar category.
Generally, System Architect must have a huge technology background, more than IT professionals. And also need to know the general office work, such as sales and promotion, CRM, marketting, research and development, HRM etc, because the primal object of the architecture is not just building up the system, but enhance the service itself, make it more effective than before.
And as an Information architect, I wish you could build up a wonderful career here in Japan. You can do it. I am now finding out a new job here in Japan. I got lots of things to learn, such as IT and finance. Hope my brain will not explode… We will talk about our future career some other time.
