Mobile Number Portability in Japan
I’m thinking of changing mobile phone networks in the future but I am interested in keeping my number. I have heard that number portability will be introduced in Japan sometime this year. When I did a search I could only find vague references to it being implemented in 2006 (dated 2004). Further digging I found a reference to the second quarter of 2006.
Anyone know of a firm date?
[Update] Apparently sometime between 2004 and the present day the date got pushed back. It will be November of this year. Not that any of the networks are overly-excited at the prospect. The lady at the local Vodafone was pretty rude when I asked her about it. And you wonder why Vodafone are selling Vodafone Japan and getting out of the market here. 
Sorry to hear you are thinking of changing networks. If you switch it could lead to a chain of events that would end with me losing my job :p
