[qdig path=michelle-hospital alt='Michelles Hospital Visit']

Michelle’s been sick and was in hospital for 5 days. She had a high fever (41°C) and wasn’t drinking so was getting dehydrated. The doctor recommended that she be put on a drip until her fever went down. She also had bronchitis and another problem which usually only affects babies around a year old. Thanks to the care of the doctors and nurses at the hospital she is got well enough to leave hospital yesterday.

I guess it is my fault for over-estimating the strength of her immune system as she had only recently gotten over a minor fever and appeared genki. The hospital stay was traumatic for her and a learning experience for us. But hopefully she will be back to normal in few more days with no lasting effects. I’m making this entry because I have so many friends with babies around a year old or are expecting a baby soon. Even for minor ailments take especially good care of your baby because it takes them a lot longer than you might think to recover.
