So much has happened since the last blog entry, I’ll just mention one thing in this entry. I am no longer an English teacher, I finished on the 19th.

Some photos of my last day. There were no tears but it was close.

I will miss the students, they are some of the most amazing people I have met. I am honoured to have been one of their teachers and in many respects I also learnt a lot from them. I have always regarded them as my friends as well as my students. The same is true about my colleagues.

Why did I have to leave? Well, the short answer is that I will be studying Japanese. The longer and slightly more accurate answer, one which I revealed to my students in my last voice class, is that I live by the motto: Live life with passion. Love what you do, do what you love.

Teaching English is great, and maybe one day I will be an English teacher again but my strongest abilities are with computers. No one who knows me would disagree. I love working in the IT, Internet or Computer field. I hope to get a job in this field in Japan and so I have to take steps to improve my Japanese. Maybe if my Japanese had been improving I would have stayed on, but really it wasn’t.

I hope to stay in touch with the students I have contact details for. I was a bit sad that I didn’t see some students before I left. To the students who read this, if anyone asks for my email address or web address please could you give it to them. Tell them to feel free to contact me. onegaishimasu!

Thank you ALL very much for all the great times at Koshien.
