As well as geocaching I went camping with Rie and her friends during the obon period. It was fun but luckily I didn’t have to play with the three kids there, that would have been tiring.
Even though I sprayed on mosquito repellant I still got bitten (twice). I hate mosquitos because my body over-reacts to the bites, I get really big spots and they itch like crazy.
One thing I learnt from camping this time was that wood chopping isn’t really hard work, if you let the weight of the axe and wood do most of the work. I actually analyzed the process as I was doing it, and realised that you don’t really chop the wood, you are really splitting the wood and that is why the axe head is wedge shaped. It also helps to observe the grain of the wood because it is easier to chop (split) the wood along the grain as opposed to across the grain.

Hi Oni-chan,
It sounds like you’d never done camping before! You’ve got bitten ONLY twice by mosquitos.Rie used to get loads of bite in our family. Was she OK this time???
I like your new web by the way. Talk to you soon! xxx
She was fine cause I’m the mossie’s favourite food. Yeah two bites may seem few but they really flare up. Will have some photos of geocaching up soon. Sending you a photo of geocaching by email in the meantime. Hope you like it
Hey, I just found your blog. Interesting what you say about your body overreacting to mosquito bites. My girlfriend is the same way. What for me would be a tiny little bump, is about the size of a 500 yen piece on her.
