Calligraphy and Mukochan
I’ve just uploaded a couple of photo albums. One is of the visit to the 50th anniversary exhibition of Rie’s old calligraphy school, and the other is photos from the bbq held beside the Mukogawa river. The bbq was arranged by Nova students for Lia, so I got to meet some of my old students. Such is the turnover of teachers at Nova it was actually the first time I had met Lia and her other half Tom. They are really nice people, and experts at handling the bbq
Lia was also vindicated when Muko-chan, Osaka’s answer to Tama-chan, was spotted and photographed. We had such a great time, food, people, place all were smashing.
The calligraphy exhibition was amazing, I am constantly in awe of the skill, dedication and sheer artisty of people who practise calligraphy. I can hardly write my name in Kanji. Rie has plans to teach Michelle calligraphy when she grows up, I’ll just teach her how to take things apart and see if she can put them back together again (just as long as it isn’t my stuff).

Hi Onichan, BBQ looks good fun! I couldn’t believe Rie told me you were having BBQ in October. Was it cold at all?? Michelle gets bigger and bigger every time I see her pics. It’s only 3wks away till we meet each oteher. Can’t wait!
