I’ve a couple of overdue announcements to make. Chronologically second but of greatest importance is that my daughter Michelle was born on 2nd May at 5.30am. Only 2 days late. She weighed a respectable and healthy 3140 grams. There are some photos and video clips below

Clip 1
Clip 2
One of the clips was taken when Michelle was only about an hour old and no I don’t recall making the “big head” comment. I blame it on the shock of becoming a father with only 9 months of preparation time
The story of Michelle’s names. Michelle has three names, 恵瑛 Her Japanese name is also her Chinese name but pronounced differently. In Japanese it is Kei, while in Chinese (cantonese) it is Wai Ying. Her English name is separate and comes from being the female form of Michael. I wanted to name my kid after a Liverpool player, and our current number 1 striker is Michael Owen. If my kid was a boy he would have been called Harry, after Harry Kewell, our current number 7. Not Michael as I have a nephew called Michael. Other names I couldn’t have chosen though I would have wanted to were Ian (Rush), Steve(Nichol) and Steven (Gerrard), Alan (Hansen), Kenny (Dalglish). Bill (Shankley) and Bob (Paisley) were briefly considered too.
The other announcement is that I have a new job. I am a web designer again work for a web design firm in Higashi Osaka. It’s actually been 5 weeks since I started and so far so good. I’m glad to be back in the IT/Web field as it is the field I feel most comfortable with. I’ll talk about it and Web Design in general in future blog entries. I also plan a redesign of this site soon so that I can practice what I preach.
In the meantime I will post a few more albums.
